STARLAND VIDEO EXPO II
Experimentation, Manipulation, Innovation

Saturday May 27th, 8pm
Mondonaro Theatre in Crites Hall
217 MLK Blvd.

It's about Video Artworks that stray from traditional narrative themes.

A stop motion animation I did made it into the show, I hope you all find time to check it out.
Most of the peices are under 5 minutes. It should be a really cool show.

Here are a few that I had to shoot this week for the paper:

I'll be in Mass around June 3rd, and then in New York city by the 25th. I'll be in NYC through July and August, in case you want to say hi to me there. This quarter at SCAD is finishing up, and I'm not sleeping much, and not doing enough in the way of really interesting work either since I have a lot of standard life stuff to get out of the way, putting stuff in storage, art history exams, etc. I hope to do a fair amount of personal work this summer.

An experimental project for my Advanced Color Printmaking class.
The last experimental project was a darkroom project, Stills From a Film.
This one is a digital project, shot all at high ISO and with all adjustments done in RAW processing before bringing into Photoshop for resizing/printing.

Yesterday, in a formal ceremony, I was inducted into the national honor roll society,
The Society for Collegiate Journalists. I had been invited to join last week.

In addition, I was awarded, by the Savannah College of Art and Design Student Media, Best New Photographer for the 2005-2006 school year.

In a less formal setting later that afternoon, during a barbeque, I was also awarded Stealthiest Ninja by the SCAD Radio General Manager.

Here is an unrelated picture from the Roller Skating rink:

Here's a few from an extensive series I did, but I've only had time to scan (and a few gallery things only wanted) five images.

Extraordinary Spaceman Adventures (Stills From a Film)

Printed from slide film in the darkroom using my reversal contact printing method, no modification beyond minor dodging and burning in the darkroom.

Headshots

I shot some headshots for an ongoing project I'm doing, photo-documenting the creative process by a team that is designing and creating a large art spectacle for the SCAD graduation. All the shots are done with window light, on location. You can see the whole team above, or a few pictures I selected to upload larger below. These shots are mainly for their website, so I let them be pretty free with their expression. Most of the project is photo-J style, with very little creative control on my part, so I welcomed the chance to exercise a bit more control with these.

I felt I should take a picture of my radio station general manager posing like a christian rocker.
