A snap from last year, at the Annex.
35mm on the Mamiya, Provia 100 Slide Film.

Second coffee shop update.

Just an old shot of a buddy at Hallmark, a couple years ago.

I have no internet access where I live right now, so I won't be as active for a couple days.
I didn't get any warning on this, which was annoying since I was planning on posting stuff these past couple days.

Anyway, I'll be back soon!

The first roll of film I ever shot. That's a big thing, right?
I'm not including disposable cameras or anything.
I don't even remember any of that.

Well, I finally made some scans from it.

This is my father. This is the second photo on film I took.

Ok, so I improved the composition a little bit on the second one, haha. At least I wasn't bracketing.

Also on that roll, an out of focus picture of my sister.

The rest is all the normal stuff. You know, Rocks, thumbs, the same subject for four frames in a row.
Ok, one isn't normal, but I'll save that for another post.

I'll share some more later.

Some outtakes from a few months back.

Some of you may remember the other pictures I've posted from the night before Coley left to move to New York City.
Well, I finally have all of them scanned and up in one place, so there's a whole bunch of outtakes, silly stuff, and unretouched shots up.

You can find them in this facebook gallery.
Just thought some of you might be interested.
A couple I really like so I might post at some slow point. Most are just really silly. And there are a couple pictures that I look really bad in. haha

Some semi-retro looking snaps of my roomate, Brian.

He's currently back in texas visiting family.
As a downside, though, he doesn't have internet.
Oh well, sucks for him, I guess.

I keep getting this feeling like someone is going to walk in any minute.
Like I'm waiting for someone to come home.

This is my first holiday on my own. It's been productive, but empty in obvious ways.

Another Rolleicord film scan.

Hahaha, here's a winner.

This is Colin, my photo editor at The South Magazine, helping me test the exposure.

Thursday, December 21, 2006

I got invited to the FOMA2007 opening in Luxembourg and they were supplying lunch, but of course I can't afford to go. Oh well, they're sending me an exhibition catalogue anyway.
I wish I could just get up and go to Europe like that. It would be amazing.

Anyway, here is the first shot I ever took with the Rolleicord. It's Alice.
The scans work great for the web, and this one actually makes a nice 20x20 print.
I'm getting better at using the scanner.
I think I'm going to scan everything before I start posting a lot.
It would be nice to have all the backlog out of the way.
I'll try to dustspot and correct a few to post though, before I'm totally done.

Oh! Also, I got to play with Colin's 5D today. It's just like my 20D but bigger and badder.
Shot something in studio for the magazine, and I'll be looking through those tonight too.

I've submitted this photo to the JPG Magazine Category: Elegance.

You can vote on it there.

You can also vote on my submissions to the Street and 9 to 5 Categories.

Good morning, world.

I need a shower, shave, haircut, and motivation.

I just received notice that I am a winner in
the Commercial Photographers International Inaugural P3 Image competition!

One of my photographs received the "Best in People Category" award,
making it one of the top four images in the competition.
(the others being Places, Products, and Photographer of the Year)

It will be published in the March 2007 Issue of Professional Photographer magazine,
added to their winners gallery at P3.MyCPI.com
and exhibited at the world renowned Commercial Photography Conference at Imaging USA.

Another of my images (which you're probably familiar with by now)
was given Honorable Mention in the Products category.
This one will also be on the website and exhibited at the Conference.

David Strohl whipped up this version of one of my photos when we were talking about photoshop.
God I have so much more to learn.

We're thinking about doing a collab project actually since he likes working in post and I'm not a big fan. He's so quick too.
It's sort of a mix of my weird print stuff and his weird photoshop stuff (ala faces project which he got an adobe design award thing for)

Some pictures of Rin shot with the Rolleicord on a really cold day in Massachusetts.

Do you guys like this system of posting best? Or just posting all the pictures with no cut?
Or posting a tiny thumb and linking to pictures on another server? I sort of like posting
one large picture the best, personally, but for days that I post more than one image,
I think this one might work the best, or posting small thumbs of each one and then having
big ones behind a cut. Let me know what you think. By the way, I backdated an entry for
saturday, because the internet was down here for some reason. So check that out.

Here are some street snapshots from Northampton.

I'm sort of stalling till I get more film scanned. I don't have my own scanner yet.

Some rollei street shots of people in Northampton. Mostly for my memories, I guess.

I've noticed that I've framed almost all of these with the subject in the left corner. huh. And yeah, that Cello and Didgeridoo sounded awesome together. Such a hip little city.

Here are some double exposures shot in Northampton, MA with the Rolleicord V.

Yay it's almost winter!

Time for scarves! My favorite! Keeps the cold from destroying me on my bike and everything.

This one was taken of me by my roomate Brian. You can see more here, mostly me looking akward or crazy though.
I took photos of him today and he wanted to test some stuff and return the favor.
Mine were film though, so gonna take a bit to get those up. Sorry. :(

Some things in western mass.

Nothing too exciting. I just don't have that much stuff scanned right now.
Hopefully I'll be getting a scanner soon though!
