I wonder why I want to capture, record, or recreate some moments while blatantly taking for granted many others.

I am standing in a doorway in my boxers, pants around my ankles, staring at a small book. It seems I have accidentally grabbed someone's "Games Zen Masters Play" instead of the book I was reading while on the toilet. Having shuffled down towards my guest bed from the bathroom before realizing this, I stare at it for a small amount of time, wondering if there might be any significance, or if I'd ever be able to understand it. Back to the bathroom, I place the book on the toilet whence it came, where it slides off into the trashcan. Retrieved, placed again. Back to the room, pants shaken off, retire.

Current Schedule

subject to change

Nov 20 -27th: Amherst/Northampton, MA

Nov 28 - Dec 1st: Atlanta, GA

Dec 1st - 14th (or 19th): Savannah, GA

15th (or 20th)- Jan 7th: Amherst/Northampton, MA

Jan 8th-onward: Savannah, GA

God damn this root canal. I have to come back for three more appointments, giving me only two weeks to spend in savannah working on my negatives, of which I still have 720 to scan. I thought I would have 8 weeks to work on personal work, and instead I have two, and 5 weeks wasted sitting up in the cold without equipment or transportation, not to mention spending a lot of money to go up and down and not being able to get a job in savannah to work over christmas.

This is all because some kid thought it would be funny to kick me in the mouth when I was ten, chipping one of my front teeth, which eventually lead to me needing to get oral surgery. Gabe, I am so mad at 10 year old you right now.

I'm in Massachusetts, in case you were wondering. I get to have a root canal tomorrow!

I was bored and working on my Visual Bookshelf (lol, facebook, I know.) and I wrote this sentence and looked at it and realized what I had done: Murakami is a master of making mundane moments magical. Everything I write is a joke, a bad one.

This entry will only be up for a limited time

Watch the rough cut of this little short I made

The music is really rough since sean and I haven't had a chance to work together and I had to edit his rough track using premier to fit it, but it's a step towards where it will be.

I shot it all with my 20d, so it's about 6500 still photos linked together. I almost got hit by a car and did fall into the river while shooting it.

I'm only posting this here because I was trying to leave it in myspace comments on a couple people's walls, but myspace changes the fucking links so you can't right click and save as, and the mov file will not stream right because it's 300mb.

Sean Leonard

This is Sean. He's currently shooting his senior film. I'm an extra in it and doing his still photography.
If you would like to pretend to be a mental patient for a couple hours, go to the bull street baptist church (at anderson+bull) tomorrow.
Let me know if you need directions or are having trouble finding the shoot.

Sean is a badass, believe, so you want to be in his film.

I'm sorry I haven't been posting so many photos in my photo blog. Someone complained that I don't post enough today.
So I'm going to try to do it daily again. I've been shooting some, and have a lot of old photos to post, but it's hard to find time for personal work
this blog included, when I'm in three non-photo classes and they're all hitting me with work.

But today I shot three things, helping other people with their final projects, so it was productive... but I only finished some stippling for myself.

It's crunch time guys!

Who else is on youtube?

I give in. Lets be youtube friends.

I'm actually going to start using it, as a dump for video from digital stills/experiments. Anyone do anything interesting in video? comedy shorts, music videos, experimental animation, fractal loops, whatever?

I finally learned how to sinc up and put sound to some really old images, like 3 years old. I don't know how to get compress it right though, obviously.

Here's a test I did today, fooling with imported jpgs in photoshop then linking together.

Scanning is getting interesting. When shooting film with an old camera you often get unexpected results,
especially when you get in the habit of calculating exposure by instinct.
Gray days is growing, and there is something new...
your brave twilight perhaps

I'm not sure if I've been having good or bad luck with photography lately.
My camera is not rolling film right. My monitor is on the fritz.
My scanner is really upsetting me. Ah. hm.

Regardless, I've decided not to go out for a while.
I need to try and figure out where I want to go with my work.
An about me I wrote for a gallery show recently basically ranted
about how I thought I had no idea what I was doing. I looked at it, realized what I'd done,
and how bad it was... then submitted it anyway.
